Summer Grazing Near Ben Lomond Tasmania

This view to Ben lomond was painted from an oil sketch that I did on location featuring Ben Lomond in a summer atmospheric haze. I liked the strong contrasting dark shapes in the foreground against the more muted tones in the distance.

Ben Lomond is the second highest mountain in Tasmania and is located within an hours drive from Launceston. The rugged craggy mountain top with its distinctive rock formations lords over the valley creating spectacular scenery worthy of painting as seen in this subject presented here.
