It's been a hot and humid year with more rain than usual on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. A result of the current La Ninna weather pattern which is predicted to continue through to May.

The La Ninna was brought about almost daily rains, and plenty of storm fronts moving through. They tend to be intense, ferocious and fast moving. When they clear they learn the earth wet under foot and the air dense with rising moisture in the hot weather.

This painting depicts the passing of one such rain storm in the hinterland out near Kenilworth. The mountain range in the background is the Kenilworth Bluff.
